Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ German Village restaurant’s proposed more than 1,800-square-foot outdoor dining space was approved by the village’s commission April 6.

The restaurant group is converting the defunct G. Michael’s Bistro and Bar location at 595 S. 3rd St. into a new Italian restaurant, Cento, with a proposed opening before the end of 2022. The previous restaurant had a small, six-space parking lot, which is being converted into a patio. The original G. Michael’s patio was only around 600-square-feet, according to Columbus Business First.

The name, Cento, is Italian for “100,” and will be the 100th location the company has launched in its 29 years of business.

Other plans include an outdoor bar, a fountain and keeping a tree that has grown up around the existing patio and building.
