PLAIN TWP. – You may soon be able to grab that burrito with extra guac without leaving

your car.

Chipotle Mexican Grill plans to open its sixth Stark County restaurant, and it’s first with

“Chipotlane” drive-thru pick-up, at Market Avenue N and Easton Street NE at the North

Canton and Plain Township border.

The 1,820 square-foot store— across from the Washington Square Plaza and Walsh

University —is on the site of the former Blair’s Cleaners.

“We believe the intersection is sized appropriately to handle any increase in traffic from

our property,” said Harrison Zoldan a partner at developer A. Altman Co.

The property’s curb cut on Market Avenue will restrict drivers to right turns in and out, “to

avoid any dangerous maneuvers by drivers heading or attempting to head south on Market

Avenue,” he added.

There’s no set opening date, but developers are targeting this fall, Zoldan said.

Chipotle will occupy half of a new 3,527 square-foot building, designed by Sol Harris / Day

Architecture in Jackson Township. The remaining 1,707 square feet is available for lease.

The new Chipotle would be the first in Stark County built with mobile and online ordering

in mind. The store will have a limited seating area and an emphasis on pickup and drivethru

orders, according to a news release.
